Bringing Books to Our Community
The Elgin Book Bus / Bus de Libros is one of the Friends of the Elgin Library's most impactful initiatives, bringing free books to children and families throughout northern Bastrop County.
In partnership with the Elgin Public Library, Elgin ISD, and local organizations, the Book Bus promotes literacy, encourages a love of reading, and helps families build home libraries.
Over the past four years, the program has distributed more than 15,000 free books to community members of all ages.
